THE JACK FORREST ADVENTURE GARDENS

The Jack Forrest Adventure Gardens was named after the late Jack Forrest Strehl, son of Paidia founder Erich Strehl, who passed away before he had a chance to make his mark upon the world. To honor his memory, the park will be a place for children and youth of all ages to come and learn skills that will benefit them throughout their entire lives, enabling them to help change their society for the better.

While Adventure Gardens is a long way away from completion, there are new developments almost daily. When we first arrived, we were all a little shocked at how much needed to be done. The land used to belong to the Israeli army, who had left a few unwelcome odds and ends, like bullet casings and a grenade. The site was a mess, but we have made steady improvements since then.

In the future, Adventure Gardens will host high and low ropes courses, our already-completed climbing tower, and an area where children will be able to run and play during our educational games. With the help of the Beit Sahour municipality and other friends, we are on our way to make the Jack Forrest Adventure Gardens dream a reality. For a more interesting view of our progress click here.
